Introducing our Khoisan Grade Rooibos Latte

Welcome to the future of alternative wellness lattes. Packed with antioxidants and trace minerals, we have pioneered the world’s first Khoisan Grade Rooibos Gemaalcha (or Rooicha for short). The term gemaalcha is comprised of two components – gemaal, being the Afrikaan word for milled, and cha, the Japanese word for tea, paying tribute to Japanese matcha where our inspiration comes from (‘mat’ being the Japanese for milled).

For a gemaalcha to be Khoisan Grade, it would need to be a wild grown, wild varietal (i.e. double wild). Therefore, we have designated our rooibos as Khoisan Grade, as 'Bossie Tea‘, a slow growing wild perennial varietal (surviving wild fires and re-sprouting from its roots), is one of the original varietals foraged by the Khoisan tribes.

Once the rooibos arrives to us in the UK, we then mill it to a specific particle/micron size to create velvety and creamy lattes. This wild varietal brews to a unique colour, and is delicately earthy and smoky, with subtle sweet notes. It is the only caffeine-free latte which sits very much in the coffee/black tea/chocolate dark flavour end of the tasting spectrum.

Brewing directions: Place 2.5-3g into a bowl and whisk with 20ml of hot water until foamy, then add 180ml of steamed milk/alternative milk of choice to create your perfect rooicha latte.
