Tucked away in the gentle folds of St Peter, on the sun-kissed island of Jersey, Les Herbes de St Pierre is more than just a herb garden – it’s a way of life. A celebration of nature, tradition, and the satisfaction that happens when you grow things with your own hands.
At Belmont Farm, Christine and John Mather have spent the last 25 years nurturing a botanical sanctuary. What began as a simple search for healing herbs turned into a living, breathing apothecary — a place where over 30 varieties of medicinal and culinary herbs flourish in the island’s fresh sea air and generous sunlight.
Christine, a French-born teacher with a lifelong passion for plants, and John, a retired vet with a deep respect for the land, have poured their love into this small patch of soil. Together, they tend to their plants the old-fashioned way — planting, harvesting, and drying everything by hand. By working with nature and growing plants that are strong and healthy with a natural resistance to pests and diseases no chemicals or shortcuts are needed. The result? Infusions bursting with character, complexity, and care.
Each sip of our British infusions bestow on the drinker not only the purity of Le Herbes de St. Pierre, but also the love and attention which has gone into each petal, from seed to cup!
