Ingredients: 100% Naturally Grown Calendula Flowers

Harvest date: June - August 2021

Growth & Production Method: Naturally grown

    Country of Origin: Armenia

At the core of Calendula officinalis’s therapeutic power is a robust botanical engine driven by triterpenoid esters and saponins, which act as potent anti-inflammatory agents by inhibiting cellular inflammation pathways. These work in tandem with antioxidant flavonoids (like quercetin) and vibrant carotenoids (such as lutein and beta-carotene) to neutralize free radicals, stimulate collagen production, and promote the formation of fresh granulation tissue. Together with mild antimicrobial essential oils and soothing, protective polysaccharides, this biochemical network delivers Calendula's primary health benefits: it dramatically accelerates the healing of minor wounds and burns, deeply soothes inflammatory skin conditions like eczema and diaper rash, combats minor bacterial and fungal infections, and calms irritated mucosal linings when used as a gastric rinse or infusion.

    Storage Guide

Please note the pouches are not airtight, and therefore once opened, your infusion should be transferred to an airtight caddy or storage jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours. We do not recommend glass, plastic and paper containers.

  • Calendula is one of the most celebrated plants in traditional herbal medicine. Its bright yellow and orange petals have been harvested for millennia to soothe skin, speed up healing, and reduce inflammation.

The Egyptians valued Calendula as a rejuvenating herb that could delay aging. The Greeks and Romans used the vibrant petals to color and flavor foods, and famously wore garlands of the flower during religious ceremonies.

In Europe during the 5th - 15th centuries, it was known as "Gold-bloom" and planted to ward off pests. It was widely used in broths to treat winter ailments and liver issues. Concurrently, Ayurvedic medicine in India utilized the herb to treat hot, inflammatory skin conditions and fevers.

During the American Civil War and World War I, battlefield doctors and nurses used Calendula leaves and petals as an antiseptic and poultice on open wounds to prevent infection and stop bleeding when conventional medicines ran short.
