Organic Lavender

Literally aromatherapy from within. Our organic lavender is handpicked from the lavender gardens of Cyherbia Botanical Park in Avgorou, Cyprus. A very smooth infusion with sweet floral and delicate citrus notes. Compared to standard lavender, our lavender is more pungent due to the fertile terra rossa soil, no chemicals or pesticides being used and purer growing conditions.

Delivery time 1 - 5 working days, after the day of despatch. Order before 12pm on a working day for same day despatch.

Lavender or Lavandula is a genus of flowering plants (which includes 30 species, dozens of subspecies, and hundreds of hybrids and selected cultivars), in the mint family, Lamiaceae. We have selected Lavandula angustifolia, otherwise known as English lavender (although not native to England) as it thrives in Mediterranean climes and due to its aromatic properties.

Lavender may be drunk anytime during the day including, and especially just before bedtime as a sleep aid and to relax.

    Storage Guide

Please note the pouches are not airtight, and therefore once opened, your tisane should be transferred to an airtight caddy or storage jar in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and strong odours. We do not recommend glass, plastic and paper containers.

  • Lavender has been used for 2,500 years for religious, medicinal, culinary and aromatherapy purposes. Lavender derives its name from the Latin ‘lavare’ meaning ‘to wash'. The Romans used lavender to scent their baths (it was thought to restore the skin), beds, clothes and even hair. They also discovered its medicinal properties. During Roman times, flowers were sold for 100 denarii per pound, which was about the same as a month’s wages for a farm worker, or fifty haircuts from the local barber. When the Roman Empire conquered southern Britain, the Romans introduced lavender. The Greeks discovered early on that lavender if crushed and treated correctly would release a relaxing fume when burned.
