SOLD OUT - for single and mixed batch Scottish Chamomile from another farm click here for a very special limited collection.

Like no other chamomile you have had before, our 2 star Great Taste award-winning limited edition organic German Chamomile (Matricaria recutita) is sublime, with a grassy aroma and taste, and floral and delicately sweet closing notes. Flowers are handpicked one by one from the serene and pure Windy Hollow Farm by the Griesbaum family in Auchterarder, Scotland, during the summer months. The water used to cultivate our chamomile is sourced from Windy Hollow Farm's spring.
Compared to standard chamomile, our chamomile is noticeably different in smell, colour and taste, without the expected intense bitterness, so you won't need honey or any sweeteners! This is due to the purer growing conditions, the method of drying and each flower being handpicked at just the right time.

We recommend linden as a chamomile alternative.

  • "Chamomile" is the common name for several herbs from the daisy-like flowers of the Asteraceae plant family. The name “chamomile” is derived the Greek word “chamomaela” (χαμαίμηλον (khamaimēlon)) meaning "ground apple" to describe its apple-like aroma. One of the most ancient and versatile medicinal herbs known to mankind, having been used medicinally for around 5,000 years, chamomile's use was noted in hieroglyphic records, in addition to an ancient Anglo-Saxon manuscript, and was commonly used by ancient Greek physicians. Throughout the ages chamomile has been used by physicians and herbalists for fevers and women's conditions, in fact the botanical name of the most widely cultivated plant, Matricaria, is derived from the Latin word for womb. At present, "chamomile" is used in traditional medicine as an herbal remedy for insomnia, stress and anxiety, and treating cold and flu symptoms, as well as improving immunity during sickness.

We got the chamomile and elderflower teas as a gift. First of all, lovely packaging and design but most importantly the teas were delicious! Will definitely buy again and try other varieties next time!
